NORDIC WALKING
Nordic walking is huge in Europe and it's becoming popular in the UK
too. Originally developed in Finland by cross-country skiers who wanted
to stay in shape over the summer. It's a terrific low-impact activity
which helps you burn 20-40% more energy through the gentle upper body
workout as you walk with the poles. The session will include explanation
and demonstration of the technique and about an hour's walking time.
Average fitness is all that's required. Trainers or outdoor shoes with
flexible soles are better than boots and do dress for the weather.

PRIVATE VIEWING - BEFORE SUNSET - JAMIE PRIMROSE EXHIBITION
Venue: Dundas Street Gallery, 6a Dundas St
We've been to Jamie's last two exhibitions in Edinburgh and really enjoy
his work. Some people couldn't resist and bought some paintings at the
last one. His work as well as being evocative and engaging is receiving
a good deal of critical acclaim and is highly collectible. This
exhibition features over 50 new oils, Indian inks and watercolours, each
capturing the unique Scottish light and atmosphere. His East Lothian
artworks range from vivid and colourful sunsets and seascapes to
iridescent shimmering beaches exuding a sense of calm and serenity,
including Tynningham, Yellowcraigs, Seacliff and Bass Rock.
