HILLWALK - THE LOMOND HILLS, FIFE

Rugged yet accessible, offering stunning views to the Highlands and
back to Edinburgh and the Lothians, the Lomond Hills make the
perfect late autumn walk. We will aim to climb the twin peaks of the
Lomond Hills, traverse the moorland and end in a pub in historic
Falkland.
This is a moderate walk and will take around 4 hours at a
relaxed pace.
Practicalities
We'll be walking over lunch time so
bring a packed lunch and water with you.
You'll need good
walking boots, waterproof
clothing
and layers
as weather can be changeable.
Car share
We will be meeting outside The Dome (bar) in George Street on Sunday morning to arrange
car sharing. If you have a car please bring it as you can always leave
it at George Street
if there are too many cars. Parking in town is free on a Sunday.
Cost per car: The journey to The Lomond Hills
and back from George St is approx 73 miles. At 22p per mile that is a
total of £16 per car. Your contribution is: £8 if 2 people in car, £6 if
3 people and £4 if 4 people. Please bring the right change if you can.
Please note: This is an
informal arrangement and as such we can't guarantee a
lift as it depends on sufficient drivers.
If you prefer, you can meet us near the start of the walk at Pillars of
Hercules coffee shop in Fife at 9.45am.

"This is a major exhibition of the work of American artist Bill
Bollinger (1939-1998), on of the most important artists of the 1960s. A
work of art historical rediscovery as well as an exhibition of great
power and beauty, it brings an artist once mentioned in the same breath
as Bruce Nauman, Robert Smithson, Eva Hesse and Fred Sandback back for
serious reconsideration.
Bollinger's work is characterised by technical and industrial
materials. His use of aluminium pipes, rope, rubber hoses, chain-link
fencing, lightbulbs and wheelbarrows is as radical and direct as it is
elegant, exploiting physical laws such as gravity, balance and the
intrinsic properties of water. His sculpture, created int he 1960s at
the height of the space race, has an astonishing energy and power, even
today."
