FILM CLUB
ROCKNROLLA
Venue: Vue at Omni Centre

Guy Ritchie returns to the wisecracking London gangster milieu of his
debut film ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ and its follow-up
‘Snatch’ for this twisting tale of a real estate scam which has the
potential to make millions of pounds, but leads to numerous members of
the criminal underworld wanting to claim their share. The international
cast is headed by Brit Gerard Butler as a street smart con named One
Two, with support coming from Thandie Newton, Gemma Arterton, Tom
Wilkinson, Toby Kebbell and US rapper Ludacris.

"MY LIFE..." DINING CLUB
Venue: Howard
Hotel,
34 Great King Street

Fraser Doherty - My Life in Jam
We are delighted to be
relaunching the hugely popular ‘My life…” Dining Club at the exclusive
Howard Hotel. The Howard, indisputably one of Scotland’s finest 5-star boutique hotels, is an
intimate and luxurious haven in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town.
My Life…
dinners include a talk from an inspiring and engaging speaker who has
achieved success in his/her chosen fields, a sumptuous 3 course dinner
and an opportunity to socialise with other guests.
The speaker...
Fraser Doherty is the creator of SuperJam. He
started jam-making at
the age of 14 using his grandmother's secret recipe. In the four years
since, the company's grown to a £500,000 turnover, supplying most of the
major supermarkets.
Superjam is changing the face of jam in the UK with healthy recipes made
entirely from fruit and fruit juice. The company now supplies over a
thousand supermarket stores across the UK - including Tesco, Asda
Wal-Mart, Morrisons and Waitrose and produces over 500,000 jars of jam
each year.
Superjam continues to
grow rapidly, with international expansion planned for later this year.
Fraser has also established a charity, which runs 'SuperJam Tea Parties'
for elderly people who are housebound or in care homes. He
has won a raft of awards including winning the 2007 Global Student
Entrepreneur Awards, being named Young Entrepreneur of The Year and
being invited to dinner with GordonBrown at Downing Street.
Meet
Jam Boy and hear about his extraordinary and inspiring story.
Find out more at
http://www.superjam.co.uk
The dinner...
Guests will enjoy a superb three course dinner including a glass of
wine, coffee and petit fours.
Dining at
The Howard is an experience full of decadent pleasures. You'll enjoy
dinner, which will be meticulously prepared by
the dedicated team of chefs, and attention to detail in this
warm and exclusive Georgian setting.
The form…
Between courses guests will rotate offering further opportunities to
meet people.

ROBIN'S WALK
- BEN CHONZIE MUNRO
Another of Robin's popular series of walks. We will be climbing a munro
in
beautiful Perthshire, called Ben Chonzie. It is about 1.5 hours drive
from Edinburgh and is situated North of the village of Comrie.
It is a comparatively easy Munro. Robin and his springer spaniel, Pippa,
climbed it in just under 3 hours. The walk will take about 4 hours
for the walk including breaks. There is a good track most of the way and
it is an undulating hill.

Practicalities
We'll be walking over lunch time so
bring food and water with you.
You'll need good
walking boots, waterproof
clothing,
hat, gloves and a jersey/fleece
as it can quite cold with changeable weather
conditions.
Car share
We will be meeting
outside The Dome (bar) in George Street on Sunday morning to arrange
car sharing. If you have a car please bring it as you can always leave
it at George Street
if there are too many cars. Parking in town is free on a Sunday.
Remember to give a contribution towards petrol to your driver.
Directions
The most direct route to Comrie
is via the M9. Follow the M9 from
the Newbridge roundabout outside Edinburgh to junction 11 where the
motorway ends. Take the A9 towards Perth, turn off for Greenloaning and
follow the A822 past the village of Braco and then ouside Braco turn
left onto the
B827 which will take you to Comrie.
Head for the main street and turn left, follow
the road round the corner and you will see a sign for the road to Glen
Lednock. This
is a single track road. Follow this road for about 4 miles and you will
come to a
car park next to a small farm steading. This is the start of the walk.
You will see
a rights of way sign post at this spot.
