Sunday Brunch Club Update
10 July 2007

Hello!!

Beach barbecue at Yellowcraigs - Sun 8 July

The week that was...
What a fantastic weekend. Our
beach barbecue yesterday was lots of fun. We had lovely sunny weather - the first gorgeous day in weeks. Thanks to Ian F for the marvellous idea of taking a gazebo 'just in case'. You can see the gazebo team above. Sherri was our superchef and did a superb job. Valerie from Provenance Wines supplied some delicious wines, if you'd like to buy some (and get it delivered) visit the website at www.provenancewines.com. Later on we played frisbee, badminton, rounders - I won't mention the score as I don't like to gloat - some walking and kite flying. It was just dreamy, just look at the views, Yellowcraigs is utterly gorgeous. 27 of us went and had a ball. The best pictures from later in the day are yet to come.

On the town at The Granary - Sat 7 July        Rounders - Wed 4 July

On Saturday we were
out on the town at The Granary which was lovely. Wonderful atmosphere as 48 people sipped and mingled in the mezannine area. The Granary is a lovely place to go and I'd recommend it if you haven't popped in yet. On Wednesday, 17 of us were out playing rounders and I really don't want to tell you the score on that occasion! I'd forgotten how much fun it is. Due to popular demand we'll be doing rounders again.

Also last week there was
Nordic walking, tennis, badminton and the Naked Portrait exhibition (excellent show and well with a visit). If you missed Nordic walking this time, we'll be doing it again later in the year.

Coming up...

"My life as.." dining club series at Home House - Sat 14 July - 6.30pm
Latin Explosion entertainment at Home House - Sat 14 July - 8.30pm

Gosh it's come around quickly, this Saturday is the launch of our
"My life as.." dining club series at Home House.  The evenings include a pre-dinner speaker, delicious 3 course dinner with wine and coffee and after-dinner entertainments with Latin Explosion. Home House is well known for its divine dining and its collaboration with Martin Wishart winner of a coveted Michelin star. The dinner is sold out, however there are a few places left for after dinner from 8.30pm. Join us in the lounge and bar of this exclusive club to enjoy rum punch with Cuban rhythms, dancing and drumming demonstrations by Latin Explosion. It'll be a fun evening and excellent value at just £10. I've had a few queries about the dress code. Ladies: go gorgeous. Gentlemen: go smart.

Find out more on our
dining series webpage here.

Please note all places must be booked and paid for by Thursday - no tickets will be available on the door.

Jamie Primrose - Wed 4 July - 7pm
We've been to Jamie's last two exhibitions in Edinburgh and really enjoy his work. Some people couldn't resist and bought some paintings at the last one. As well as being evocative and engaging, Jamie's work is receiving a good deal of critical acclaim and is highly collectible. This exhibition features over 50 new oils, Indian inks and watercolours, each capturing the unique Scottish light and atmosphere. His East Lothian artworks range from vivid and colourful sunsets and seascapes to iridescent shimmering beaches exuding a sense of calm and serenity, including Tynningham, Yellowcraigs, Seacliff and Bass Rock.
