Sunday Brunch Club Update
26 July 2007

Bonjour bonjour!!

Well it's been a while. I do hope you're all feeling fabulous and holidayed like we are! A big thank you to our fab team of event organisers who've done a wonderful job keeping everything on track while we've been away. I love holidaying - especially in Cannes dahling - but it's great to be back and I'm looking forward to an exciting and busy week ahead. As well as all that's on offer below we're busy at SBC HQ working on some fab new events for August.

If you'd like to come along and meet the SBC team and find out more do come along and see us on Thursday at The Treatment Place or on Friday for 'Thank Goodness it's Friday!' drinks (more below...)

Coming up this week...

Thurs 26 July 5-8pm
Complimentary mini-treatments and mingling

The Treatment Place, 50 Queen Street EH2 3NS
www.thetreatmentplace.co.uk

Join us at the boutique treatments rooms of The Treatment Place on Queen Street for a glass of wine, meet the team and find out about our fantastic range of massage and beauty treatments, and our amazing Karin Herzog skincare products. You can pick up some exclusive Sunday Brunch Club discounts available only on the day, try a mini massage, enter a prize draw for a chance to win a fantastic prize - top prize is a summer pamper package for 2 people - and lots, lots more.

So looking forward to this! 60 of us will be going and I'm sure it'll be fun. There are a few places still available drop us a line if you'd like to go along. Fri 27 July from 6pm
Celebrate the weekend with 'Thank Goodness it's Friday!' drinks
Menzies Belford Hotel - Riverside Suite

Join us on Friday for another relaxed evening - slip into the weekend and start as you mean to go on. Pop in straight after work or come along later. I'll be there until at least 10pm. Between 40 and 60 people usually attend so it's a great way to meet everyone. Remember non-members are welcome to attend so do bring friends/colleagues along too.

We now have a private room at the Bedford Menzies - the Riverside Suite with it's own bar and balcony and great drinks offers on beer/wine too.

Sat 28 July 1pm
Jazz Mardi Gras

Part of the Jazz Festival this free musical extravaganza is great fun.

Sat 28 July - 4pm
Hearts v Barcelona - Murrayfield Stadium

It's the match of a life-time. FC Barcelona from the capital of Cataluna in Spain bring their multi-million pound international superstars to Edinburgh to play Heart of Midlothian FC. The match at Murrayfield is likely to be viewed by one of the biggest crowds to ever watch Hearts in action. Well with Thierry Henry there, who could blame them!

Sun 29 July - 12.30pm
Jazz on a Summer's Day

The Ross Theatre in Princes Street Gardens is the venue the biggest jazz event in the UK. Audiences spread out of the bandstand and across the Gardens to enjoy the entertainment.

Other things coming up soon...

Singles dinner - Thurs 23 August 7pm at Peckhams - two spaces for men available
These dinners have been very popular and just two spaces are left for the August 23 dinner..

S
ix men and six women enjoy a relaxed dinner in the intimate private dining room in Peckham's. You'll be greeted with a reception drink followed by a 3 course meal. You'll move after each course so you'll have an opportunity to talk to everyone. It's relaxed, much like any other dinner party - except there won't be any couples! The next day you'll receive an email with the positive comments people made about you. Each dinner will focus on a different age range as Alison, the host and organiser, has found people prefer this. The age guide for the August dinner is 40+. This age focus are not set in stone so please treat it as a guide.  The event is hosted by Alison Grieve who has organised these popular dinners for several years. Please book early!

Looking back...

"My life as.." dining club series and Latin Explosion!
Oh what a night! David Danson gave a highly entertaining talk and this was followed by high impact Latin Explosion afterwards. I've added a few pictures here. The next one will be on Saturday 15 September and we have an exciting speaker planned for that one. Do please register your interest early for the dinner as it is bound to sell out early again.

Last week there was cinema on Tuesday, the Linlithgow Palace ceilidh on Wednesday, dinner on Thursday, walk on Saturday and lunch on Sunday with tennis and badminton as usual. Thanks again to our fabulous team who held the fort magnificently while we were away.
