My life in... burlesque - Saturday 15 September

The waiting is almost over. This Saturday evening Miss Lily White will be regaling us with anecdotes about her extraordinary life and career as one of the UK's top burlesque performers.   We'll also be viewing her   amazing showreel of performances.

The dinner is at exclusive private members' club Home House well known for its divine dining and its collaboration with Martin Wishart winner of a coveted Michelin star. After dinner there will be a burlesque performance.

If you would like to attend the after dinner soireé there's still time.

Other things coming up this week...

Tennis and badminton as usual. Tonight's Filmclub film is 1408 which has received rave reviews. It's about an author, Mike Enslin who has written a string of bestsellers scoffing at paranormal occurences. Research for his book, 'Ten Nights in Haunted Hotel Rooms', continues to reinforce his beliefs, until he checks into room 1408 of the Dolphin Hotel. Defying the hotel manager's warnings, Enslin is the first person to stay in the room for years, and he soon finds out why as he is thrust into a horrific experience beyond imagination. Helen's got lots of great films lined up in coming weeks including: Hallam Foe, 3:10 to Yuma and Shoot 'Em Up.

The week that was...

Greypaul Maserati's Exclusive Summer Fayre was the highlight of the week - Greypaul really know how to do hospitality. Some hot-shot drivers in our midsts took a maserati out for a spin while others were enjoying the champagne, canapes and hand massages by Jo Malone on offer. Guess which I was doing! Like last year, it was a fabulous event with TV coverage of the Grand Prix, an F1 simulator, spa pool... and this year was no different.

On Saturday we were out on the town at Bramble Bar a lovely basement bar at 16A Queen Street (corner of Hanover St). Great fun with 48 people coming along.
