Sunday Brunch Club Update
23 October 2007
Hello!
The sun's still shining which is fabulous. Hope it lasts as winter is just around the corner and the clocks go back an hour this Sunday.
Get fit for winter! Start next week
If you hate gyms and want to keep fit and stay active over the
winter, Tracy Griffen has just the thing for you -
DIY fitness. It's a six-week series of fitness workshops
where you'll learn how to be independent of gym fees forever. The workshops are
limited to 6-10 people so you'll get individual attention and by the end of the
series you'll feel leaner and stronger and have your own fitness programme
focusing on activities you enjoy. The autumn term is is £75 for all 6 workshops
(do mention the Sunday Brunch Club when you contact Tracy) and includes all
course materials, a pro-tube and pilates band for toning. There are courses
starting next week at Iglu in New Town
on Wednesdays at 7.30pm and Tonic Health in Leith
on Thursdays at 8pm. To book, find out more, or sign up for Tracy's newsletter:

Stars Christmas party
Saturday 15 December 2007
Thank
you for all your Christmas party theme ideas which included Wild West,
seventies and a masked ball. Very special thanks to
Don who came us with the stars idea. Dress up as your
favourite star of stage, screen, sports or literature. As you arrive on the red
carpet the paparazzi will snap you at the start of this starry, starry night...
We've secured the grand and atmospheric wood-panelled Hill Street House for
our party. It's on Hill St just off Frederick, so very central. Nearly 100 people came along to
last year's Caribbean Beach
Party in December which was great fun. Don't miss this year's
which will be even better! We're working on it now and will keep you posted with
all the details.
New Year's Eve party
We also have Hill Street House for our exclusive use for New
Year's Eve and another fabulous evening.
This week...
Come and meet us on Friday!
Thank goodness it's Friday drinks
this week will be at Hudson Bar 6-8pm. Hudson is on Hope Street next to Whighams
just off Charlotte Square. Drop in after work, everyone is welcome. These are
always relaxed and chatty evenings and between 40 and 60 people usually attend.

The week that was
Last
week was a busy one with tennis, golf, 5aside, badminton and dinner at The
Borough on Saturday. I'll start there as it was just lovely. The second of our
'bring a friend' dinners was
divine. The Borough comes very highly recommended. The chef produced an
extensive menu for us which included such delights as seared scallops with
garlic, shredded duck with smoked chicken and mango salad, pigeon roasted
pheasant and mustard mash, pink loin of venison with spinach and saute
potatoes... I could go on! Suffice it to say that it was dreamy-delicious and
the only thing on the menu that was frozen was the ice cream. The Borough takes
a pride in using the freshest ingredients and it shows! Do book early for our
next one at Iglu where the chef has won an array of awards.
To book for November's bring a friend dinner
email us. You can book with a friend £24 each or book on your own £28.
