Sunday Brunch Club Update

Hello!
Isn't time flying?! It's now just over 4 weeks until Christmas!! We're delighted that our Stars Christmas Party and Red Hot Hogmanay Ceilidh have both so popular. Over 50 people have signed up for the Stars party and over 60 for the ceilidh.
This week is the last week to snap up a bargain!
Our great value prices of just £25 for the party
and £30 for the hogmanay ceilidh end on Friday 30 November. From Saturday 1 December
our non-members' prices go up to £30 and £35 respectively. For members deduct £5
from those prices. If you're coming with a group of friends please contact us
for discount details.

Sunday.
We've added a few new things to the December programme including a wine tasting at the Caledonian Hotel, Burlescapades at Voodoo Rooms, a walk up Arthur's Seat, tenpin bowling, Winter Wonderland and Christmas ceilidh so read on for edited highlights.
We're also working on our 2008 programme which will include lots of great new things including a ski holiday. Watch this space!
'Bring a friend' dinner - Saturday 24 November

Another of our tastings at renowned real ale pub the Cask & Barrell. We'll
be talked through the beers by an expert former

Burlescapades - Friday 7 December - 9pm - 1am at
Voodoo Rooms
Miss Lily White is back with
burlescapades. If you enjoyed her talk at our 'My Life in Burlesque dinner',
you’ll love this evening with a dazzling stage show starring the cream of the
UK’s burlesque and cabaret talent, all backed by a 6-piece live band
at Edinburgh's most glamourous and exciting new venue, The Voodoo Rooms. The
spectacular show will keep the chill from your bones with a cracker of a line-up
featuring feather fans, flaming tassels, tap troupes, saucy striptease, high
comedy, slapstick humour, jaw-dropping balloon popping and more!
After the entertainment, dance the night away under the
glittering chandeliers to vintage sounds from the 1920s to the 1950s and beyond.

Winter Wonderland - Thursday 13 December - 6pm
Meeting
in Wonderland where you can ride the big wheel, carousels, go ice skating, see
the new ice bar or just wander around the Christmas markets and drink mulled
wine. Last year was lovely and we're really looking forward to this one.
Stars Christmas party Saturday 15 December 2007

A star themed night where we're all stars! Dress up as your
favourite star (or character) of stage, screen, sports, literature,
politics. Stars in Their Eyes competition. Prizes for best dressed. Delicious
buffet supplied by Coyaba restaurant.
Licensed bar. Lovely venue, lovely party atmosphere, lovely people - don't miss
it!

Brazilian Sensation Christmas dinner and Samba
demonstration - £20
Thursday 20 December 7.30pm at 117-119 Buccleuch St
We've
organised something a bit different for our Christmas dinner. Rather than the
usual turkey etc we're going Brazilian! There'll be a carnival atmosphere with
Brazilian music delicious food and a samba dance demonstration. The main courses
will be served banquet-style to our table on an 'all you can eat' basis! This
will be followed by home made tropical ice-cream. After dinner a samba
demonstration too. Bring a wrapped present up to the value of £10 for 'secret
santa' - the tackier the better!
Dress code: colourful - think Rio!
Red Hot Hogmanay Ceilidh - Monday 31 December 2007
8pm-1am
Start
2008 on a high at our red hot ceilidh. Have a fantastic time and don't let your Hogmanay celebrations get rained off
our blown away! As is always the case at Brunch Club events there will be a fun,
friendly atmosphere. It's an event you won't want to miss. The
fabulous
Da Hooley ceilidh band will take us through from 9pm-1am in fine style. Haggis,
neepies and tatties will be served too for no extra charge. Dress
code: red or tartan
Members: £25 if you buy in November, £30 in December
Non-members: £30 if you buy in November, £35 in December

The week that was...
Last Saturday's weekender drinks
at Iglu was lovely - 48 people came along and somehow we all
managed to fit into the bar area. Great to see so many people out. Look out for
the next one on Saturday 8 December (venue tbc).
Our Italian
wine tasting at Howies was wonderful. Guido for Edinburgh Wines
guided us through the evening. It was very popular and this time we were limited
to 20 places.
We're arranging a bigger wine tasting in January for up to forty people so look
out for that.
On Wednesday and Thursday we were in Debenhams
were we were invited to do an in-store promotion. It was good to see those of
you who popped in.
