Hello!

Well I have to start with the Stars Christmas party on Saturday. It was just incredible. I'm  so thrilled that you enjoyed it so much. We've been inundated with emails and telephone calls saying thank you. We thank you for making it such a fantastic evening - we're already thinking about next one.

super girlPeople made such an effort with their costumes that I honestly didn't recognise one or two people! Super girl pictured left looked amazing and Mata Hari and Tom Cruise were seen posing for the cameras.

Thank you to Coyaba restaurant info, The Beauty Parlour info, Swim Skills info and East Coast Salsa info for fabulous prizes for our prize draw.

A huge thank you to Diane and Helen of The Baloonies (pictured below) who transformed our venue into a lovely ballooned festooned, sparkling Christmas party venue. They're amazing and have a magic touch. I'd highly recommend them if you want to add sparkle to any event.

Brian and Peter you were marvellous on the bar - thanks a million for your sterling work. I don't know how I'll repay you!

Finally congratulations to Aileen Downes aka Cruella Da Ville and Alan Galloway aka Ghandi who won the best dressed competition and Tim Searles aka James Bond, Sue Ayres aka Madonna, Ellie Marlow and Bridget Hanna aka pink ladies and Robin Davidson aka Sherlock Homes who came 1st, 2nd and joint 3rd respectively in the Singing Competition. Tim's rendition of A Wonderful World was absolutely marvellous. Our team of judges Paul Palmer, Nick Boyd, Clare Gately and Stuart Mackenzie did a brilliant job too.

Red Hot Hogmanay Ceilidh - Start 2008 on a high!
If you missed the Stars party make sure you don't miss our fabulous Red Hot Hogmanay Ceilidh. So far 142 people have booked so it'll definitely be a sellout. We just have just a few places left now which will probably be gone by Monday.

Have a fantastic time and don't let your Hogmanay celebrations get rained off our blown away. As is always the case at Brunch Club events there will be a fun, friendly atmosphere. It's an event you won't want to miss. The fabulous Da Hooley ceilidh band will take us through from 9pm-1am. Haggis, neepies and tatties will be served too for no extra charge. Dress code: dress for dancing and wear something red or tartan. Licensed bar. Members: £30  Non-members: £35

Do remember that if you prefer to pay on the day it will be £40. No tickets will be sold on the door without prior reservation - only reserved tickets can be purchased at £40 on the door.

Christmas Eve get together - Monday 24 December
Voodoo Rooms
Last year's Christmas Eve get together was lovely. And especially because while we were out my Mum stuffed the turkey which was one of the things I wasn't looking forward to. Aren't mums wonderful! Pop in for festive chat, lovely company and lots of laughs.

Rugby: Edinburgh v Glasgow at Murrayfield - Friday 28 December
The first rugby match between Edinburgh and Glasgow took place almost 135 years ago. Now the inter-city challenge has been resurrected as east takes on west. There will be lots of festive activities to enjoy, including a ceilidh band pre- and post-match in the President's suite, choirs and a dance school to entertain at half-time. Do something different between Christmas and Hogmanay. There's usually a great atmosphere at these matches.

ice galleryLast week's bowling was very good. Thank you to Maureen for organising it. Then on Thursday we were at Winter Wonderland where we visited the ice gallery (pictured) and spent much too long playing ice golf (without very much success!).

And of course last week was the Stars Christmas Party. Have I mentioned that already...?!
